Dental Therapist

A dental therapist is a long established profession and a dental therapist is a valuable asset to all thriving dental practices. Their role is to complement the dentist in providing many aspects of dental care including preventative care such as oral hygiene advice (education and motivation), scale and polishing and taking radiographs (x-rays), restorative treatment including fillings, removing baby teeth and placement of crowns on baby teeth.

Their role is particularly important as it frees up the dentists time to enable the dentist to focus on more extensive and aesthetic treatment.

Dental therapists are suited to treating both children and phobic (nervous/anxious) patients as they have more time to spend with patients and are especially trained in meeting their needs.
